SUMMIT HILL - An elderly woman from Schuylkill County was killed this morning in a one car crash. The crash happened about 9 a.m. in Summit Hill in Lehigh County. The Lehigh County coroner said 82-year old Margaret Doughty of Tamaqua was seriously injured and later died at the hospital. Police are investigating the crash.

FORKSVILLE - A Lancaster County man was injured when he was hit by a vehicle in Sullivan County last night. Police say 59-year-old Christopher Wren of Marietta was walking along Route 87 near Forksville when he was hit by a mirror of a passing vehicle. The impact pushed Wren off the roadway where he landed under a guard rail face first. He was taken to Geisinger Medical Center but there is no condition report available.

WILLIAMSPORT - Williamsport police are not able to give much detail of a stabbing around 2:15 this morning in the city. They say the victim, a man, is not cooperating with the investigation, but they say he received non life threatening injury.

BELLEFONTE - In Centre County, the man accused of helping a Bellefonte man escape from the scene of a homicide will face trial on the charges, after waiving his right to a hearing in court Wednesday. 26-year old Kermit Butts of Madisonburg, is charged with hindering prosecution and aggravated assault.

CLARKS FERRY - A tractor trailer crash at the Perry/Dauphin County line made it nearly impossible for traffic to pass eastbound this morning. Traffic is again moving over the Clarks Ferry bridge near Duncannon about 1 mile east of the Routes 11 and 15 split. Perry County Emergency Services tells us a tractor trailer crashed on the bridge that carries Routes 22/322 across the Susquehanna River.
State Police say, the driver, Freddy Valverde of Essington, suffered a minor injury after he lost control of the truck around 5:30 this morning. He overcorrected after hitting the cement median and the truck rolled onto its driver's side. The truck slid along the bridge for about 100 feet before stopping. It was carrying paint which burst out after impact. Oil from the engine also leaked out. A detour was in place as crews worked to clean up the gooey oily mess.

BLOOMSBURG - Police in the town of Bloomsburg are investigating an early morning stabbing. That happened around 3:20 this morning in the 500 block of East 4th street. Bloomsburg police were looking for a female suspect. There's no word on who the victim or suspect are at this time.

HEPBURNVILLE - A crash in Lycoming County early this morning send s a 25-year-old man to the hospital with injuries. That crash was reported around 2:30 this morning in the 200 block of Route 973 in Hepburn Township. Police say the man went off the highway and slammed into a tree. Police say he was not wearing a seatbelt and was trapped inside his vehicle and had to be cut free. He was flown to Geisinger. Police have not released his identity. Alcohol is believed to have been a contributing factor in that crash.

SCHUYLKILL HAVEN - A 45-year-old woman was reportedly run over this afternoon by her own vehicle in Schuylkill County. According to preliminary reports in the Republican Herald, the woman fell from her car in a parking lot behind a beauty salon. The car apparently rolled over the left side of her body.  She was taken to a medical helicopter that landed at Penn State Schuylkill Campus and flown to a medical center outside Schuylkill County.

REBERSBURG - A cow shot and killed in Centre County. Troopers say the incident happened in the area of Fox Gap Road near Rebersburg in Miles Township around ten o'clock the night of August 24th.
Police continue to investigate. The culprit will be charged with cruelty to animals.

UNDATED - A gun, money and drugs stolen in two separate robberies in Clinton County. A Beech Creek man reported to State Police that a .38 caliber revolver was stolen from his pick-up truck and a Loganton man said someone got inside his home and stole about $30 and prescription medications sometime last Thursday.

MIFFLINTOWN - A Juniata County man charged with sexual assault today. Troopers say 65-year old Ralph Laubach of Mifflintown is accused of   having sexual contact with a girl on numerous occassions at his home in Fermanagh Township from 2007 through 2009 from the time the girl was 10 until she was 12-years old. Laubach is jailed in lieu of $50,000 bail.

SELINSGROVE -- Authorities in Snyder County have located and jailed the subject of a morning manhunt. Selinsgrove State Police tell us 17-year old Edwin Alequin Junior, of Reading, tried to flee from police during a traffic stop just before 2:30 this morning in Selinsgrove. Troopers say Alequin rammed his Jeep Cherokee into the police car after he had crashed into an embankment. Following a vehicle and foot chase, police found the teen hiding in an apartment in the Pine Meadows area. Police say the vehicle was stolen. Alequin is being charged as an adult and is jailed in Snyder County in lieu of 50-thousand dollars bail.  Charges include aggravated assault.

DANVILLE - A fire last night in Montour County has been determined to be an accident. The fire was reported around 11:30 p.m. at the home along Old Valley School Road in Valley Township. State Police fire Marshal Norman Fedder say the fire at the home of 44-year-old Julie Dent started in some faulty electrical wiring at the base of a stair case. Dent was able to escape the burning home by crawling out a window of the second story of the home. Damages estimates are around $100-thousand dollars to the home.

MIFFLINBURG - A crash in Union County sends three people to the hospital with what police called moderate injuries. That crash happened just before noon Wednesday on Dreisbach Church Road in Buffalo Township. Police say 49-year-old Lori Smith of New Berlin tried to pass another vehicle when her car skidded sideways into the path of an SUV driven by 65-year-old John Norton of Port Orange, Florida.

BELLEFONTE - A Mifflin County man was sentenced yesterday to one year of probation and 202 days of jail time he's already served after pleading no contest to reckless endangerment. 36-year old Eliot Preschutti of McClure was accused of starting a domestic fight during which he was cut with a steak knife and a woman's arm was fractured. After the initial charges were filed and Preschutti was sent to jail, he was charged with trying to intimidate the woman into not testifying against him. The Center Daily Times reports, those charges were resolved through a guilty plea.

DEWART - Investigators will continue their investigation into a fire that heavily damaged a home in Northumberland County Saturday morning. An elderly couple was hurt after jumping from that burning home.  74-year-old Russell Yordy has since been released from the Lehigh Valley Hospital. His wife 79-year-old Helen has been upgraded to serious condition at Geisinger Medical Center after the couple was forced to jump from a two story section of the blazing home. Fire broke out just before five Saturday morning at the two-story farm house along Route 44 between Dewart and Allenwood. Warrior Run Fire Company Chief Mark Burrows says the fire is being labeled accidental and damage estimates will exceed $300,000 dollars.
